About
I am interested in the religious history of seventeenth and eighteenth century France, especially Jansenism and the community at Port-Royal, the various permutations of Gallicanism, and religious issues during the French Revolution. I am also interested in questions about ecclesiology, authority and sacramentology in the medieval and early modern periods and the methodological question of the role of the historical theologian in the discipline of history.
My dissertation examines the sacramentology and ecclesiology expressed in the writings of Angélique Arnauld.
